NMA’s Social Support and Community Engagement services support a person’s need for social connection and participation in community life. It is funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
The CHSP provides entry-level support to help older people to continue to live safely and independently at home and in their communities.
The service is available to people aged 65 years and over, and Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and over.
The service includes;
- Transport services, pick up and drop off
- Morning tea and lunch
- Information sessions on healthy ageing
- Outings and picnics
- Participation in Harmony Day, Refugee Week & Seniors Week events.
- Opportunities to join in various social activities such as games, computer skills, and more!
Once a person refers to the service, NMA’s coordinator supports them through an assessment to determine their suitability for the program.
Funded by the Australian Government, Department of Health, Disability and Ageing under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
